Kyushu Ramen
Tuesday, May 3, 2005 21:23I think I’m falling in love with someone else. I am cheating on Daikokuya, my favorite tonkotsu ramen shop until now. I still LOVE Daikokuya, but maybe I was getting bored with the same routine. I was just looking for something new to rock my ramen world.
Today, I discovered Kyushu Ramen in Van Nuys, a small ramen shop that specializes in the Kyushu style of ramen, bathed in a rich, flavorful, cloudy broth made of boiled pork bones (tonkotsu). Theirs was deep, full of flavor and blended perfectly with the ramen noodles and accompaniments–melt-in-your-mouth roast pork, seaweed, sesame seeds, egg, pickled ginger, fish cake, bamboo shoots and spinach.
