Sharpen your knives at the Farmer’s Market

If you cook at all, your knives are your most important tools…and “they say” you’re more likely to cut yourself on a dull knife than a sharp one.

You can get your knives sharpened at the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market while you wait. The last time I went, the booth was located at the intersection of Arizona and 3rd. He charges by the inch, so big knives cost more than small ones. I plan on taking a bunch there tomorrow. (I know that Sur La Table is supposed to sharpen knives too, but haven’t heard anything good about them) He also does scissors.

The man running the booth offers a professional discount if you give him your business card…but if you aren’t a professional cook, tell him I referred you and maybe he’ll cut you some kind of break. (no pun intended, sorry)
