Monday, May 16, 2005 7:47Was having dinner at the Farmer’s Market at Fairfax and Third and saw a flyer for this event.
In checking out the web page, it turns out to be part of the Taste of the Nation campaign of Share Our Strength’s efforts in anti-poverty and anti-hunger programs locally and around the world.
Here is the full press release on the upcoming charitable event. Excerpt:
Share our Strength Los Angeles (http://www.strength.org) announces its 18th annual Taste of the Nation, presented by American Express and Jenn Air® / locally presented by Culver City, will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2005, 1:00pm-5:00pm, at Media Park in Culver City. Co-chaired by People Report President Teresa Siriani and restaurateurs Benjamin Ford and Mary Sue Milliken, Taste of the Nation LA will be staged in a convenient outdoor location.
……….
According to Mary Sue Milliken of Border Grill and Ciudad, “Taste of the Nation is about much more than your favorite foods dished out by a great lineup of chefs—you’re going to experience exciting new tastes, amazing wines, great auctions and entertainment in a lovely park setting. The best part is that the dollars raised from your enjoyment go directly to effective programs that will end hunger in Los Angeles.
