Another Chiu Chow house that's handy is Kim Chuy, located next door to the original Mandarin Deli in Chinatown. Jonathan Gold does a nice write-up of it in "Counter Intelligence."

If you want to try more chiu chow restaurants, there's one in Rosemead at 9014 Garvey Ave #H.
It's called Kim Ky noodle house. Like it's name it specializes in noodle soups. Their red rice and beef is also quite popular. It's good and inexpensive.
