A week from today the Los Angeles Fire Department is hosting its 8th Annual Hope for Firefighters. The family event is designed to bring the downtown community together and benefit the Widows and Orphans Fund of the Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association.

This year’s fundraiser will host over 25 food booths. Fire stations from all over LA partner with local business sponsors to present a variety of booths featuring a taste of the firehouse prepared and served by the firefighters.

Among the items on the menu are BBQ pork sandwiches, carne asada, tri-tip, Italian sausage, ribs, fish tacos, Hawaiian pork and short ribs, tamales, baked potatoes and roasted corn, strawberry shortcakes, ice cream sandwich cookies, and Firehouse Sundaes.

The event is free and open to the public. Food ticket prices range from $1.00 for drinks; $2.00-$5.00 desserts/speciality drinks; $6.00 meals.
