New Sweets at Jin Patisserie

Another foodie thing to do this weekend is drive to Jin Patisserie which doubles as a pastry boutique and tea garden.

Chocolatière Kristy Choo has added a few new treats to the menu that sound like they may be worth the trip — as if her macaron and freshly brewed Les Palais de Thè selections weren’t incentive enough.

Financiers: Circular cookies that combine ground almonds, egg whites, sugar, and chocolate chips. $7.50 per bag.

Litchi Marshmallows: Oddly flavored gummy tropical fluff? Sign me up. $6.50 per bag.

Dark Chocolate Sticks: Three flavors: pistachio, sea salt, and cocoa nib. $4.50 per set.

Dark Chocolate Bar: $7.50 per bar.

I’m hooked on her chocolates too! Too bad they’re quite expensive. I may try my hand at making some truffles myself. Here’s my take on it:

Hi Kristy - I loved the passion fruit too! It’s so vibrant and holds up the dark chocolate even better than one would imagine.
