Well, I went to the opening of the Atwater farmer’s market this morning. I enjoyed myself and bought a wonderful large bundle of fresh, long rosemary. I also bought three terrific bars of handmade soap: mango poppyseed, lemon verbena and an aquatic smelling soap named “Buenos Aires”.

I noticed several tables set up as though people may be eating however I did not notice anything that could be purchased to eat on the spot unless you count fresh orange juice. Did they arrive later?

I’ll be going again next week.

Thanks for your report, I missed the soaps!

The only prepared food that I saw were those fresh juices. And the coffee stand was manned by Atwater Coffee as oppposed to Kaldi, as was suggested by SEE-LA at one point…

Have to check in w/ SEE-LA about new/more vendors coming joining in. There’s more room — I didn’t realize how big that parking lot is.

Meantime, it was fun, I agree. We went a half hour before closing and lots of tables appeared nearly sold out (or perhaps they started off modestly w/ fewer goods on opening day?). Among other things, we bought some meyer lemons from a really sunny young guy who said, “Thanks for supporting organic!” Hey, no prob.

    See you there next week!

Michael at Franklin Avenue had a good report with photos too! (One of some chocolate chip children.)
