Hometown Hero with Special Sauce and Ink
Monday, June 20, 2005 12:55A toast to Mr. Gold is in order.
LA Weekly was the big winner at the 2005 AltWeekly Awards. Our local weekly brought home 4 trophies, not the least of which was earned by Jonathan Gold. The Counter Intelligence columnist won first place in the “Food Circulation > 50,000″ category. L.A. Weekly food columns deemed superior from a field of national contenders were Gold’s: Beyond Urban Rustic, Post-Puck Generation and Koreatown’s Top 40.
Thanks for making living and eating in L.A. ahelluvalot more savory and dynamic.

I’m so proud of Mr. Gold. He is my favorite writer, hands down. I love each new LA Weekly each weekly simply because of his new columns. We are very, very lucky to have him in our town.
