Frankie and Johnnie\'s BoxI’m no expert on New York Pizza, or pizza in general for that matter, but I do know that Frankie and Johnnie’s serves up some tasty pies. Frankie and Johnnie’s New York Pizza and Pasta is located in a small storefront on San Vicente in Brentwood. We first tried their pizza after hearing rave reviews from a number of our friends. In addition to the standard pizza offerings, Frankie and Johnnie’s has some creative combos as well:

Cheeseless Vegetarian: Sauteed Spinach, Eggplant, Mushroom, a host of other veggies, but no cheese! (obviously)

Little Ronnie’s Special: Lightly breaded chicken breast, sliced roma tomatoes, fresh basil, mozzarella and parmesan cheese

Mama’s Pasta Pizza: Baked ziti, ricotta, mozzarella, and Mama’s marinara sauce (yep, pasta on pizza!)

Little Tony’s Special: Sauteed shrimp in a light virgin olive oil, sun dried tomatoes and roasted garlic.

Don Giccio Special: Tossed salad pizza in a very light homemade Italian dressing.

Frankie and Johnnie\'s PizzaThere are plenty of other combos, I usually stick with the veggie options. The pizzas come piled high with toppings (as you can see) and the veggies are fresh and flavorful. It is usually worth it to ask for extra sauce, although it seems hit or miss on whether you actually get it.

I would suggest, even if you are going for meat options, to add some sauteed spinach, it is a great topping and they do it just right.

More importantly, on Mondays and Tuesdays, Frankie and Johnnie’s offers a two for one special on their 14″ pizzas. As with most two for one deals, they give you the cheaper one gratis. Prices on the 14″ (which is the small) range from $11.95 for the cheese and up to $16.95 for the Frankie and Johnnie’s Speial, which includes all pizza toppings.

As the name implies, Frankie and Johnnie’s also serves pasta, as well as salads, sandwiches and calzones. Allegedly, they fly in a selection of desserts from New York. I can’t vouch for them, pizza is usually enough to do me in, but on their menu is New York Cheesecake, Mama’s own Tiramisu and Blackout Cake.

The guys who work at Frankie and Johnnie’s are easy going and take care of business. On the phone, they are friendly enough to help you out with your order and delivery comes within 45 minutes.
