Son of Stan’s Donuts Rolls Into Thousand Oaks

Stan’s Donuts in Westwood has a major fan following after 40 years in business, this much I have learned in the few years that I’ve lived in Los Angeles. So perhaps it was sort of inevitable that Stan’s son Scott would join the family business and open his own donut shop in another part of town.
About two months ago Scott opened the doors to the first satellite branch of his dad’s shop in Thousand Oaks. The locals are already going crazy for the things, according to the Chowhound boards, and Ventura County Star, full story.
The shop prides itself on having all sorts of doughnuts, many developed by Stan. There are pretzel-shaped doughnuts, blueberry cinnamon rolls, glazed and frosted doughnuts and some with coconut, sprinkles or nuts on top. Jan said there are about 25 other varieties yet to be introduced.
Sounds a little tough to find however…
Anyone looking for the Stan’s Doughnuts sign hanging outside the shop at 658 Moorpark Road will need to wait a few months. The shop is up and running, but the Bermans plan to redecorate in September and are having a new sign designed. The store still has “Master’s Donuts” from its previous owners above the door outside.
