Such a sad loss of decent Saag Paneer!!! I really like Indian food and this place delivers, so although their Masala is too creamy-gross and their Chicken Tandoori quite dry and average at best, the Saag plus convenience have kept me ordering for the past few months I've been in the area when I'm too tired to cook or go out and craving Indian food. Never again.

Awful service has outweighed the benefit of the delivery factor and half decency of the food. It has also angered and inspired me to create a yelp account, rather than just lazily appreciating the advice of others.

I asked for no cilantro, on anything. A simple request. I reiterated that request 2-3 times, after ordering each dish, and asked if that would be a problem. I received confirmation that it would not... But it was. The food arrived with hearty piles of chopped fresh cilantro on top of both dishes and worked its way down throughout the Madras, which was also recommended by the man I ordered from and also had a good 4 Tbsp of oil floating over the top.

Even then, it could have been ok. Even after that. If only they had either replaced or refunded my order as I requested, rather than arguing for an extended period of time over it being "just garnish" and choosing to be stubborn and rude rather than keep a good customer. This behavior should not be rewarded.

When I found this place I thought I had found the lost treasure of (some pirate), had lunch there a few times... until... I had to go inside to wash my hands. That kitchen is awful!!! the pans and other cooking utensils are so old and dirty. I almost left that place running, but the food was so good that I had to stay there and finish it. The food is great, but the kitchen area needs a good upgrade, deep cleaning and new cooking supplies.

I've been dying to try this place ever since reading this review and all of the convincing comments. I recently went during lunchtime, so I opted to try the buffet. It was a good way to sample & stuff myself with a few of Halal's dishes for $10. Next time though, I'll opt to order separate dishes since they seem to be reasonably priced. I can't wait to try the samosas & korma... Thanks for the recommendation everyone!

I'm happy that people are noticing this incredible restaurant. The staff is friendly and accomodating and the food is bordering on ridiculously delicious. There aren't enough restaurants that combine gastronomical bliss with value. After having gone to India (West Bengal) I thought surely I'd never eat food like that again. Makkah proved me wrong - 5 Stars!

I finally made it over to Makkah Halal Tandoori for dinner Sunday night (having only experienced the lunch buffet previously) and I can't recommend it highly enough! Saag paneer, garlic basil naan, aloo gobi, lamb tikka masala, chicken something-or-other...all were deliciously fresh and fragrant. Since our big dinner for four only came to $52 so we felt compelled to tip heavily for such manna!
