O.C. Ice Cream Wars
Monday, July 25, 2005 17:40 1 CommentGosh, I didn’t know that bad stuff goes down in the O.C. The worst thing I ever saw happen was Mischa Barton throw a chaise lounge into a large, perfectly skimmed pool. Apparently, however, there’s a big turf war going on in the Southland between competitive ice cream vendors.

Eat them! They were for dessert, but I had no idea what they were nor how to attack the little spiny monsters.
They were lychees! Up [...]

Paru’s is still relatively close by and I’ve celebrated my birthday there on the outdoor patio for the last two years, but when it comes to close-by Indian food, I’ve found [...]
Il Moro
Sunday, July 24, 2005 0:01 2 CommentsIt’s always fun to find restaurants that are tucked away in a corner where you’d never expect one to be. My moment of enjoyment came when I found Il Moro, which is on the ground floor of an office building on Olympic Blvd. Because of its secluded location, one might expect that Il [...]
A Bowl of Heaven
Saturday, July 23, 2005 17:05 20 CommentsI’ve lived in the San Gabriel Valley (SGV) all my life and have seen the rise and fall of many, many Vietnamese Pho restaurants. I remember indulging in my first bowl of pho at Pho So 1 on Valley & Del Mar, next to Hawaii Supermarket, when I was 8. And when you’re 8, anything [...]
