Thai Original BBQ & Restaurant

My parents live in the Southland. Their dining philosophy can be summed up in the cliche: I know what I like and I like what I know.

Thus, most times when we try someplace new, it is because I came up with the idea.

However, once in a while, the roles are reversed.

Recently, went to a place they discovered and liked. We went to the Thai Original BBQ & Restaurant in Hollywood.

Delicious!!

The setting of the restaurant isn’t much to write home about. The format is simple, affordable but wonderful food. They do a hefty amount of take-away and delivery orders in addition to their dine-in customers.

Here is the pricing on a few of their items we’ve had: Sate $7.95, Chicken Curry (mild yellow with potatoes) $6.95, Thai Bar-B-Q Spare Ribs Dinner (ribs with shrimp fried rice) $8.25.

In looking at their history page, it sounds like another classic coming to America and making it big story:

When Pat and Tammy Ngamary came to America in 1967, they had no idea how popular their authentic traditional homeland recipes would become. They spent years developing the perfect blend of Thai spices for the dishes they served in their first restaurant established in 1978.

Check out their locations page and see if there is one near you!

Interestingly, the location we ate at wasn’t on the list!
