Halloween at Luna Park - Oct. 28-31

Thursday, October 6, 2005 9:13

“How many days until Halloween, Auntie (SoCalorie)?” my 4.5 year-old niece asked me this weekend. When I told her we still had 30 to go, she kicked her little plastic cat and told me I was wrong, that Halloween is now officially on October 2nd. Wishful thinking runs in the family. But if the two of us were to dream up ‘one of the most funnest’ autumnal activities ever, it would probably be very similar to what Luna Park is putting together to celebrate Halloween.

Those of us bold enough to arrive dressed up in costumes on Friday Oct. 28 through Monday, Oct. 31 will receive a free Make-Your-Own Caramel Apple dessert, according to Gayot L.A.. Each table will be given a plate of apple chunks on popsicle sticks, a ramekin of melted caramel sauce for dipping, and a dish filled with toasted nuts for rolling.

The restaurant is also organizing Decorate-Your-Own pumpkin cookie desserts. The cookies come with a selection of frostings, sprinkles and candies, to either eat on-site or take home. Luna Park is also planning a special Halloween-inspired drink menu and staff members will be in costume.

If you see a big cry baby in a princess costume, and a pre-schooler way too sophisticated to dress up, that’ll be me and my niece.

Nice! I’m *so* going to dress up this year and of course carve my annual pumpkin.

Does anyone know where to buy seeds/seedlings for winter squash? I’d love to grow some cushaws out here, but don’t know where to go… Any suggestions would be GREAT! Thanks!!! :)
