Adventures in Thai Delivery

Tonight’s menu: Thai Bistro, at Fountain & Edgemont

We’ve tried Thai from right around the corner in our neighborhood (near 3rd & Vermont) and have been consistently disappointed, so I was pleased to see a new flyer hanging from our door announcing an old place that is newly delivering to our area. Tonight was its premiere appearance in our apartment, on our Ikea dishes and mismatched silverware.

I was immediately pleased with the offering of fresh spring rolls on the menu, and they proved to be large, tasty and incredibly fresh. More stars were added when we pulled out of the paper bag not only plum sauce, but red hot sauce (so many places don’t add this unless you ask) and soy sauce. The pad see ew with tofu was delicious, if just a little on the plain side, but came with plenty of broccoli and egg. The garlic and pepper with beef was also tasty, but again, could have been a little more exciting. Still, all was delicious. Add to that a coupon for a free Thai iced tea with our order (and any minimum order of $10), and we’re happily sated—and we’re glad to have found our new source of Thai delivery!
