I love eating gooey ducks. My mother loves to make it with rice, tastes great! Though I do think you have to get used to the texture.

You have to try the Shio Ramen at Santouka. It is the best! For some yummy (but pricey) imported Kobe pastries, try Fugetsu Do across the cash registers. I live a mile away from Mitsuwa and although I love the products at the grocery, the variety is not extensive and is a tad on the expensive side. I say this in comparison to Marukai, another Japanese grocery (almost double the size of Mitsuwa) on Western and Artesia in Gardena.

Sayuri,

Thanks for reading! I based my review on my recollections ending about five months ago. I stopped working in Torrance in August, but I know they had huge turnover in the food court. Never saw the C's, but I never got cockroach dung in my katsu either. Thanks for the heads up!

This must have been written long time ago. It's been awhile since the okonomiyaki place was replaced by a tonkatsu joint. And most of all, the market has been getting C rating. Genroku Sushi got B, and the noodle joint (Mifune?) got C. And most disgustingly, the tonkatsu place didn't even get a letter rating. They scored 69 out of 100. Torrance Mitsuwa has been on decline since the famous store manager who used to appear on their TV commercials moved to Costa Mesa. How often do you see a C rating on a grocery market? This is one of the reasons ever busy Marukai being even busier lately.
