When do we get a Dean & Deluca?

  1. They’ve got a Whole Foods in Union Square now, and when I was there in October, the locals seemed to know TJs was on it’s way. Besides, I’d rather we get a The Hummus Place: awesome Jerusalem-style hummus and big puffy pita. I LOVE NY!

  2. Speaking of which, I’m sure Angelenos could have found the perfect low-rent strip mall for the 2nd Ave. Deli. It didn’t have to die.

  3. I know! I want a Dean and Deluca’s in LA!!! I’ve been to the one up in Napa Valley but that’s sure one heck of a drive from LA! I say we start a petition. ;)

  5. You want Dean & Deluca’s, you can have it. The only thing special about the place, as far as I’m concerned, is the astronomical prices ($4.50 for 1.5 ounces of cumin) and the fact that they HATE it when people ask to taste something before buying (who spends $30 per pound on a cheese without trying it first?).

You take Dean & Deluca, we’ll keep Sahadi’s, Kalustayan’s, Fairway & Fresh Direct.

    PS: Thanks for Trader Joe’s!
