The organic beans are farmed in the forests of Uganda, East Africa. The small farming communities who live in the midst of the endangered gorillas have been given a long-term financial commitment by Urth in the hope that they will cultivate one of the world’s finest coffee estates.

Gorillas in the area have been victims of massive poaching. Only an estimated 706 survive. By growing organic coffee using sustainable agriculture, the small Ugandan farming communities can be supported while protecting the habitat for the Mountain Gorillas. More info.

That’s a wonderful thing to be doing. Now people can fuel their coffee addiction and feel good about it. heh

Perhaps the gorillas should pitch in and help harvest the beans. Instead of monkey picked tea, it could be Gorilla Picked Coffee.
