Thai Patio

I had lunch the other day at a little spot that I’ve always been meaning to tell folks here about: Thai Patio. Maybe you’ve seen it, you’ve definitely driven past it, it’s across the street from The Farmer’s Market/The Grove at 3rd & Fairfax. It’s that shopping center anchored by Whole Foods and K Mart. This is an otherwise dreary place, with a competitive parking lot where they tow, and with Little Caesar’s, Wigs Today, Anna’s Linens–you know the one. Then, in the middle of this splendor, there’s a corridor filled with patio tables, at the end of which is an extremely nice little Thai restaurant. It has a clean, pleasing decor, the table service is polite and smiling, and the menu has all your favorites, plus a few things I’d like to go back and try. Lunch specials are $3.99, and I went with the pad thai, which was very good, very fresh and hot. There was an inexplicable scoop of rice on my plate; but hey, life’s a mystery.

I wish this was in my neighborhood, I’d go there all the time. It’s a good, simple Thai place, in an unlikely, and very central location.

I lunched there for the first time on Sunday - I was pleasantly surprised. Worth twice the money, and the servers were pleasant.
