It was OK, but a lot of bells and whistles for very simple and non-impressive food. the service was ok until we needed the bill, and in such a small place, there should be no problem having someone on the floor at all times! i totally agree with all of you - totally overrated and unbelievable that this was a top 25. I was over-charged on my bill which was full of items from the table next door to me. When I brought this to the attention of the waiter he was rather unapologetic and seemed to have anticipated my complaint making me suspicious that he added the items to pad his gratuity. Beware if you eat at Beacon - always review the items on your bill before you pay! I have to second the comment on the poor service. Nuttin like gettin' a berger at a Asian place, fer sher. Nice change from the once-a-week lunch trip to La Dijonaise, but I never tried their La Fromage Berjer and pomme fries. I remember liking the fancy cold sake and the black cod, but we were seriously underwhelmed by the rest of the dishes, also the spendy bill.
