That's a shame. I haven't encountered anything but friendly service, but there's no excuse for getting moldy bread and anything less than an apology.

I've been a fan of JR's for years, but... The last few times I've been have left me with a bad taste in my mouth. The customer service has been getting more and more complacent, especially during the busy lunch. The very last time I went I was served moldy bread. No apologies or explanation was given, I was just asked if I'd like another bun. I love their brisket especially, but I'm not sure if I'll return to a place that doesn't care enough to serve somewhat fresh bread.

On top of it, they are positively the most friendly restauranteurs I have ever met. Philips, another legendary BBQ place I will be reviewing, runs neck and neck with them...but they've got attitude and no place to sit. Who is #1? On any given day, best among equals.

Mmm, those pictures look awesom. I've been meaning to find some good bbq to eat in LA and this sounds great. Probably going to have to go for a long run before I dig into the meat fest.
