Where are you eating this Easter Weekend?

It’s Easter Weekend, time for brunches with ham and eggs and maybe a beef roast here and there. Does anyone have any secret Easter finds, worthy brunches, good take out, something non-traditional?

Eating out for Easter reminds me of eating out for Mother’s Day. Overpriced, crowded restaurants with rubbery eggs and tasteless hollandaise. Can you prove me wrong?

Square One Dining in Los Feliz all the way! It’s my new favorite brunch spot. Baked eggs with fava beans and mushrooms, yum!

Got an Easter/Passover potluck at my place. Yes, I know, that sounds odd. But the big event will be the Honey Kettle experience I plan for Saturday. mmm…fried chicken.

As I am sharing my birthday with the resurrection of Jesus (at least this year I am), the Annual Birthday Festival is in full swing.

We dined at Mastros on Thurs (report soon), I had to review a play last night (Devil’s Night in NoHo — it was — shall we say — interesting, tense and violent). Tonight I am doing a Lamb Roast for 6 (six) with a semi-boneless leg from Jamieson Ranch Farms, lashings of potatoes roasted in goose fat, golden baked onions, grand marnier and butter baked carrots also boiled peas — wish me luck!

On the big day (tomorrow) we have planned to get organic croissants from Le Pain Quotidien and make cappucino at home, followed by lunch and antiquities at the luxe Getty Villa, with my sweetheart braving the kitchen to make Crab Crepes in the evening as I sip on Bollinger and shout out helpful instructions from the lounge room.

    Nice.

I’m probably going to go with something lowbrow and have a nice chocolate filled crepe from that place in the Farmer’s Market.
