A native Milwaukeean, I grew up on Usingers, and consider it the gold standard of all things sausage.

Now a resident of Upper Glendale, have in my freezer frozen brats from one of the two or three actual German deli/butchers in So Cal, Schreiner's Fine Sausages. It's first and foremost a great butcher shop, with a wide array of European style sausages, cheeses and German imports. There are a few tables to sit and have a sandwich, not to mention the grat European bakery next door, Berolina.

Thanks for tip on the local butchers. I have read in many a egullet forum that http://www.usinger.com/ has really good sausages. I have not tried them yet, but I plan on placing an order soon. Has anyone tried Usingers?
