Lord of the Wine Tasting Giveaway
Monday, June 12, 2006 7:28Congratulations to Martin who submitted the winning entry to our “name your own wine in the spirit of Lord of the Rings” giveaway with this submission:
Ancient Entish Vines
Mourvedre
A-lalla-lalla-rumba-kamanda-lindor-burúme County
2000
Fangorn Forest
The 2000 Ancient Vines Mourvedre draws from a wide selection of our oldest, most historic and slowest-moving Mourvedre blocks, all of which are over 1000 years in age. These special vineyards consistently produce fruit of stunning concentration and longevity. The lots that we branch-selected for the 2000 blend showed an added degree of ripeness and dimension that is the result of sensitive farming practices, the singular Onodrim terrior, and a unique cooling band of air that flows in from the Brandywine and Anduin Rivers. By naturally restricting yields to 2 to 3 tons per acre (a record year for these roving vineyards), our old vines achieve sublime expression of the dark, dusty berry fruit quality that is so characteristic of our Ancient Entish Vines Mourvedre.
Enjoy this wine now or cellar for 500 to 700 years.
Thanks to all that participated, there were some great entries. For those who still want to go to the event tonight, more details here.
