I too only learned of problems with gluten a few years back when I met someone who has Celiac disease. Since then I've met a few more. And a bit over-priced, perhaps their rent is high. They're one of the first restaurants I came across that offer wheat-free/gluten-free breads. At first we laughed at the idea ignorantly thinking it was some L.A. fad to please the shrinking masses, but it isn't so! (At least for the most part) It wasn't until sometime this year that I learned people really do have allergies to gluten.
