Crispy Cones?

I can’t remember how I came upon CHANFLES!, but his (I’m assuming it’s a his, it could be a hers, but I’m guessing that El Chavo is a dude) site is a great read. In addition to a number of thoughtful articles about East LA, he also writes a gut wrenching recap of a trip to Crispy Cones.
Crispy Cones?. Sounds… gross. I can’t say it too much better than they did on their own site:
CrispyCones will forever change the way we look at meals on the go, with a new, fun alternative to traditional fast food. Made with nutritious ingredients and delivered in a smart drip-free cone that complements the delicious flavors of the food, the Crispy Cone lets you enjoy your favorite foods in a modern and environmentally-smart new way.
I’m curious about the drip free claim. With all of the melted cheese and sauce (as shown by El Chavo), it looks like there is a possibility of messiness.
Has anyone else tried these? Is there a counterpoint to the El Chavo review?

I much prefer this concoction’s carny name, The Walk-o Taco!

I tried a pizza one at the Santa Anita mall in Arcadia. It was difficult to eat, and the bread was more like a flaky pie crust than a pizza crust, and just not that good. I ate about half of it, and went and got a real slice of pizza from Sbarro. I give it 3.5 out of 10.

El Chavo’s also got a Places To Eat! page worth checking out.
