Manhattan Beach Farmers Market
Tuesday, August 29, 2006 9:00For the last few Tuesdays, I have been making a point to visit the Manhattan Beach Farmers Market at lunch. The market opened a couple of months ago, adjacent to the growing Metlox Block Project (yes, they really call it a “Project”) and for a smaller FarMar, I am impressed. It looks like they plan on running the market year round on Tuesdays from Noon-4:00pm.
The number of stands is less than at the larger Santa Monica markets, but there is enough variety to cover all of the normal market offerings. Ample fruits and vegetables are available, as well as nuts, dried fruits and even some baked goods. Also, most produce stands (if not all) sell organic goods.

$5 Hawaiian Chicken Plate
I have been picking up lunch, so far only at the Hawaiian chicken place but today I plan on trying the Pupuseria. I also like picking up a bag of roasted peanuts, the nuts are incredibly plump and make for a great afternoon snack. There is also a tamale stand and a Peruvian lunch place.
Plenty of parking available underground for 50 cents/hour.
