Dining Plans for This Weekend?
Friday, October 13, 2006 7:47Posted By Jonah in category Dining Plans
It has been a little while since we asked for your dining plans. Why ask the question? So that we can steal your table and stalk you like paparazzi, of course.
Actually, it’s a good way for people to get ideas of what places to check out, maybe this weekend, maybe next weekend or next month.
So, if you have it in you, leave a comment to this post and let us know what your plans are for this weekend.

i’m going to Maison Akira tonight with a friend. We like to try new restaurants and decided to give their French food with a Japanese touch a try. It just so happens that this weekend they are celebrating their 8th anniversary. To commemorate the event they are having special menu items all weekend long.

It looks like we might hit up Baby Blues BBQ for dinner. A trip to the Cheese Store in BH is also on the menu and if the weather holds, brunch at the SM Farmers market on Sunday.

I’m headed to Balcones del Peru in a few shakes to meet up with a fellow food blogger. Peruvian food - heaven! And possibly yet ANOTHER trip to Providence. It’s an obsession, see.

Tapas Sunday at Ciudad, possibly Gyu-Kaku tomorrow night.
I’ve never been to Balcones del Peru–do they have the authentic cafe con leche there?

Another Providence visit PK, lucky you! They are going to have to create a ‘frequent diner’ card for you.
I do have a super-secret dinner plan for Monday night (my first wedding anniversary), but I can’t let the cat out of the bag here…
How do the Ciudad Tapas stack up against the Border Grill happy hour menu Evan?

Jonah–I’ve never been to the Border Grill happy hour. I went with my wife and my parents the first Sunday they did tapas, last summer. We were going just for the regular menu, but decided to try it out. Great stuff–I had only been to Ciudad for dinner once before, and I wasn’t overwhelmed, so I like the tapas more. I still haven’t been to Ciudad for the regular menu.
The anchovies, and the morcilla sausage are two of my favorite things in the world. I still haven’t tried any of the famous tapas places in town, so I don’t know how it compares with, say, Cobras & Matador, but it isn’t strictly Spanish–like the rest of Ciudad, it’s more South American (they have a very good empanada).
