Oh yeah -- the Standard Hotel on Sunset (and presumably also the one Downtown) has an all-night diner which I recall had fairly decent, slightly upscale fare.

Try to avoid the steep hotel valet parking fee, though they do validate.

Pho Cafe in Silverlake serves cheap, fast, healthy (both meat and vegan!), DELISH food til midnight. its a perfect place to go post-show, pre-bar for a quick light snack (with beers!) so that you dont get too terribly sloshed...

You will probably not find anything like you had in NYC Lisa, but one "nice" place that is open 24hrs is the Pacific Dining Car. There is one location Downtown and one in Santa Monica.

You can see their <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.pacificdiningcar.com/dinner.html" rel="nofollow">Menu online</a>, dinner and breakfast are both available 24hrs.

LA, in general, shuts down a bit earlier than NYC. Hope that you find a some good spots!

I just moved to LA from NYC where you can get "nice" food and sushi at lots of places from 2am to 6am. In LA, it seems like most late, late night spots are diners or have limited menus of burgers and individual pizza's. Any place to get "nice" food and sushi in LA at like 2am?? Inquiring minds would love to know!

Next time I need a late night meal, I am going to try a new wine bar called Bin 8945, located at, uh, 8945 Santa Monica Blvd, cnr Robertson.
(877) 233-7831

I believe they serve dinner as late as 1.30am.

101 Cafe, Fred 62, Swingers (uh oh... I have been typecast). Also, Kate Mantellini's when I want a martini plus really expensive mediocre food.

Definitely depends on how late ... my late night pecking order is Doughboys, which is open until midnight, then Swingers, which is open until 4 a.m. most nights, and if it's even more desperate than that, or I just can't be bothered to go as far as Swingers, then it's Damiano's, which is open until 6 a.m.

Depends how late you're talking. For late-ish, I like the bar menu at Lucques (after 9:30 weeknights, 10 on weekends I believe). Real late, it's always Brite Spot or Fred 62, or sometimes places in Thai Town--most are open v. late.
