The Food Court Conundrum

hotdogonastick-thumb.jpgUndoubtedly many of you will be doing some shopping this weekend and next. It’s likely that some of you will be going to the mall. A handful of those going to the mall will get unbearably hungry and break down, heading for the food court.

Here’s my question for you. Do you have a favorite food court? Do you have a go to “restaurant” in the food court?

I had a kick ass burger at Phat n’ Juicy Burgers at the Fox Hills mall and there are some passable places in the Century City food court. Maybe I am just willing to let myself suspend quality requirements when I’m shopping, but there is something delicious about the mass made greasy food in the food court.

So, which food court courts you, which food stand do you head for? Hot Dog on a Stick lure you in with their snazzy uniforms? Let us know in the comments, and shop on, Donkey Kong.

Can I vote for a defunct food court shop? Bob’s Ice Cream at the Fox Hills Mall (back when they had that gigantic orange stairwell in the center). They hand-dipped the rectangular ice cream on a stick to order, and covered it in nuts or sprinkles. Mmmm

It’s all about the Westfield Century City Dining Terrace. There’s just something about Baja Fresh served on real china that hits me right…

At Santa Anita - I almost always fall for the Dona Rosa in the middle of the food court ~ though now that they’re building a Cheesecake Factory right outside I may not be so sure.

And Orange Chicken at Panda Express / Manchu Wok / etc. always has a strange pull on me…. :|

Man, I always feel sorry for the poor sob’s at Hot Dog on a Stick.

And I used to work at a theme park!

I’m partial to Massis Kabob at the Sherman Oaks Fashion Square. The kabob place at Santa Monica Place ain’t bad either.

I would rather go hungry than eat food court swill.

Upon reflection, I think I has two pieces of passable sushi at the newly redecorated and rather glamorous Century City Mall, adjacent to the (also new) cinemas.

Ugh, are you kidding me? That sushi place sucks at Century City mall. No thanks.

I said “passable”. I don’t expect too much from a mall. Pretty tough to screw up a blue crab handroll.

What was so woeful about your experience?
