Well, that is the rub. Parking is not easy. I am able to walk there. If you are willing to walk a couple of blocks it shouldn’t be too awfully hard to find parking, and it is easier on the weeknights.

re: Angeli - I’ve been wanting to go there forever because I love listening to Evan on her podcast but Melrose scares me as a dining destination because of the lack of parking. What’s the parking situation there?

This is a wonderful place. Food is great..filling.. price appropriate.. and the waitstaff is inspired.. but normal.. they seem to know what I want everytime we go there..its a great place for families to go.. those with kids who know how to have fun.while not taking over the place.. Infact.. Evan allowed us to have our daughers 4th Bday there.. all the kids made pizza with her and it was truly just a blast.. Im not sure she will ever do it again with 4 year olds.. but we are forever thankfull to her. she is a gift to this city.

i luv angeli cafe initially for the absolutely perfect light savory bread they make. a warm plump round roll they give you as soon as you sit down…and the other reason the pizzas are oh so good.

Oh yes, the gnocchi must be mentioned! There’s a special gnocchi each night. On Valentine’s they were having a ricotta gnocchi with an almond sauce. Mmmm.

i guess you also read jonathan gold’s recent laweekly top 20 italian restaurant guide (in which angeli cafe appeared). shortly after reading it, i went to angeli cafe and was reminded why his place is so consistently good. the gnocci is top-notch; a must-order.

The “puddle” was a special dessert for Valentine’s day, but they may still be serving it for a while! You should go and find out!

I’ve been trying to get there for months. But, with a review like this how can I not make it a priority? Was the “puddle” a special dessert or is normally on the menu? If you don’t know, would you please be so kind as to dine there again very soon and look on the menu? You’re the best! Thanks.
