New Site Design

In between painting walls this weekend, eating at the Farmer’s Market, trying a new sushi place and seeing UCLA advance to the Final Four, I pieced together this new design for the site. It may not surprise you, but I was a bit taken aback that la.foodblogging is coming up on its 2nd anniversary. It’s about time for a sprucing up around here!

The design should be a bit easier to read and navigate. The search function (up there to the right) is now powered by google and should work better than the old search function. The recent comments now highlight newer comments and link directly to the comment itself.

A big update was to the About Page. I tried to answer the questions I get most via email, including our policy on PR folks and sponsored meals. Spring time must be a busy time for the PR industry, because I have been inundated with gentle “suggestions” about what our readers may be interested in; even more than usual. I have started playing the game of scanning other blogs to see where the PR releases show up, sometimes verbatim.

There will be some more changes as I tweak here and there. As always, it’s the readers who have the most valid suggestions, so let me know if something doesn’t look right or is broken. Hope you all had a great (and tasty) weekend.
