^ Muhlyssa, mate -- you ROCK! I don't visit Cybele's fabulous site as often as I should and I had no idea she'd unearthed a source of CHERRY RIPES right here in LA! I am so fuckin' thrilled, I just did a little dance!

Ya know, when we first moved here from Sydney, about 11 yrs ago, Pepperidge Farms had the incredible biscuits known as Tim Tams, but they were called something else. Sadly, they've disappeared. Thanks heaps for all your tips -- I am now on a fact-finding mission to Cost Plus etc.

Now if only I could get Arnotts Iced Vo-Vos and Scotch Finger biscuits and Darrell Lea dolly lollies locally, without having to pay shipping costs.............

*sigh*

Thanks for the report of the sightings. My Aussie husband and I are often finding random Australian things around, we even found ANZAC biscuits at Vons a few years ago. Cybele at the candyblog mentions a liquor store near the Beverly Center that carries Cherry Ripes. Even Cost Plus is carrying Tim Tams, although that's not what they call them. They are made by Arnotts just with a different name. You can also find Darrelea licorice at Trader Joes and Cost Plus, but it's nothing like getting it fresh at store in Oz.

Huh! I WISH!! This unusual and exotic fruit is native to a beautiful region, about 11 hours drive north of Sydney, called Byron Bay in New South Wales.

Not sure about the tuna but those watercrackers are crackin' good! Light and almost flavourless so they don't overwhelm the biz you chuck on top of them. Oh yeah!

Wot? No vegamite? Or kangaroo steaks? And you claim to come from a land down under? Can't belive you didn't mention Kylie Minogue. I thought she was the juiciest morsel to ever come out of australia.....
