jean-luc_naret.jpgI had the opportunity to sit down with Jean-Luc Naret, Director of Michelin Guides on Monday afternoon. We talked about a variety of topics, including the leaked Los Angeles results, how restaurants survive the initial selection process, how many inspectors are on the West Coast (5), where Mr. Naret dines in Los Angeles, and even a discussion of foodblogs.

You can listen to the interview here:

Or download the mp3 file (the sound is a little better): download link

If you want to skip straight to the foodblog discussion, it is in the last few minutes.

My apologies for the background noise. Think of it as added ambiance for a restaurant setting. There is also some annoying buzzing from one of our cell phones around minute 14. I would have edited it out, but I’m going to leave it for completeness for now.

This is the first audio interview I have posted here, I would appreciate your feedback!

Oh I most certainly remember Jean-Luc from Sandy Lane Barbados. This is a very professional man, creative, bright and very engaging. He typifies excellence and knows the business. Quite apart from that , I think he would make a great 007!

He is handsome and charming and he knows his stuff. Sandy Lane, Barbados is a completely better place because of him
