This was a great article on honey and bees. The more I learn about bee’s & honey, the more amazed I am. On the medical side, there is a lot of new research being done on the health benefits of honey.

Some research has shown that certain types of honey are good for wound healing.

Some researchers from Penn State have recently shown that Buckwheat honey is better then the OTC children’s cough medicines for children’s cough. There is a web site that talks about this, and gives lots of research to help parents be better informed about how to help their kids. Check out http://www.honeydontcough.com/

Thanks for you blogs,

Enjoyed the pictures. I'm interested in pictures of your Honey House setup to handle 180 hives. Are you using a uncapping machine of some sort (maybe a Cowen Uncapper) with a sump/clarifier, pump, exractor, wax melter, hot room, etc?

Thanks, Kent Wooldridge

Bill doesn't have a direct website yet, hence no mention of it at the end of the article. However, you can find out where he's selling and contact him through this site.

Erinn, thanks so much for posting your column on the LAT blog!

I wouldn't be without Bill's lip balm that I buy at the Santa Monica farmers' market. It's fun to read the whole story.
