The cake part wasn't anything fantastic, but the frosting was GREAT. And usually I don't like frosting! But the cream-cheese based frosting on Hotcake's cupcakes is so dense and delicious. I also got one of their small caneles (sp?), which I've never had before. It was custardy on the inside, crispy on the outside. I'm a fan. I went by after lunch and picked up some mini-cupcakes for my office and a red velvet one for myself. The cake part wasn’t anything fantastic, but the frosting was GREAT. I'll have to go check it out. I, too, like cupcakes, but not ones that are overly sweet or frosted. It sounds like a great place to go after having some seafood at Mariscos Chente.
