Bottega Louie
Tuesday, April 26, 2011 23:48 12 CommentsBottega is an Italian term traditionally used to refer to a place where aspiring artists learn from masters. Sushi Cali-style — Kiwami
Monday, April 18, 2011 18:40 7 CommentsOkay, it’s hardly traditional sushi — way too much sauce, mayo and spice — but Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi knows how we like our sushi in L.A.
Part of the Katsuya-group of restaurants around LA, Kiwami opened a few doors down from the original Katsuya in Studio City, which opened in 1997.

This aromatic spirit has supplanted (at least for now) my go-to Gin of choice, the elegant Bombay Sapphire, for the makings [...]

We had been looking forward to this dinner for weeks. We had never been here before and had no idea what to expect. It turned out to [...]
Scoops Now on the Westside!
Saturday, December 4, 2010 23:12 18 CommentsLast summer, I openly came out about my addiction to Scoops, my favorite ice cream spot. One of the comments on that post was by Evan, who informed me that Scoops was opening a location in West Los Angeles. Ever since then, I have been very closely watching for news of the grand [...]
