Extravaganza for the Senses
Sunday, July 19, 2009 23:48 4 CommentsI realize I have been rather quiet here on lafb of late. To make up for that, here’s a big post with a whole lot of food mentions. Yesterday, I went to the 20th Century Fox Studios Lot for the 12th Annual Extravaganza for the Senses. For those who might not be [...]
Amazing Vegan & Omnivore Tasting Menu @ Joe’s
Monday, May 25, 2009 19:39 3 CommentsOn a pleasant spring night this week, I had an amazing dinner at Joe’s Restaurant on a quiet corner on the usually busy Abbot Kinney Blvd. It was still early enough for sunlight to be shining in through the windows, illuminating the crisp, clean decor inside.
Our party, two omnivores and a vegan [...]

Friday, May 8, 2009 17:54 4 CommentsWhenever my sister comes to town, I always try to find some good restaurant for us to go to. What can I say? Being a foodie is in the family genes. My sis is very easy to please. I just have to take her to a restaurant I like, and I [...]

The BF and I [...]

It all started with my uncle. He mailed over some gift certificates for The Ritz Carlton, and it just so happens, Jerne, which [...]
Shrimp lovers rejoice! Mariscos Chente is Here!
Saturday, January 31, 2009 11:33 7 CommentsI visited Mariscos Chente for the first time after being tipped off by this Chowhound thread about them. Boy, am I glad this is just a short drive from work. I’m definitely going to want to come back to try all of the shrimp dishes.
I ordered the Camaron a la Pimienta: shrimp in pepper [...]
Defeated by Melisse…
Sunday, December 28, 2008 23:35 8 CommentsAs some of you have noticed, about once a year, I write about some extravagant dining experience. Well, it’s that time again. Once upon a time, I went to Melisse and did the carte blanche, which basically means the chef chooses what will be served. I recalled that there were about 9 [...]
