More DineLA Restaurant Week Reviews

More reviews have rolled in after yesterday’s roundup of DineLA Restaurant Week meals. I interpret the general consensus to be “pleasantly surprised”. Sounds like diners go in with mixed expectations and the restaurants are stepping up and offering full featured meals at the discount price.

Ford’s Filling Station
9531 Culver Blvd., 90232
(310) 202-1470
$34 + tax, tip
Bottom line: Yum.
This is the food I love to eat. These are fresh, well-seasoned, unpretentious, and simple dishes borne of a deep hunger within, not of some intellectual curiosity or misinformed science project — I walked out of Ford’s Filling Station last night at 11 pm [...]

I had the opportunity to sit down with Jean-Luc Naret, Director of Michelin Guides on Monday afternoon. We talked about a variety of topics, including the leaked Los Angeles results, how restaurants survive the initial selection process, how many inspectors are on the West Coast (5), where Mr. Naret dines in Los Angeles, and even [...]

Los Angeles Michelin Stars, Leaked and Confirmed

Monday, November 12, 2007 9:30 2 Comments

Due to a website SNAFU, the Los Angeles Michelin Stars were leaked this past weekend (including in our own comments). No LA restaurant was given the coveted three star rating. There were 15 One Star and 3 Two Star rated restaurants in the LA premier of the guide. Furthermore, 35 restaurants were awarded Bib Gourmand [...]
