Several weeks ago, there were fresh figs at the market, but they were…early. And as such, they were a little flavorless, and not very sweet. But it’s high season for figs now, and in both the regular and farmers’ markets, figs are fat, juicy, and summery sweet.

Several weeks ago, after an evening of Korean barbecue for dinner, Mom put down a bowl of what looked like little, fat pink and yellow dragons in front of me. Eat them! They were for dessert, but I had no idea what they were nor how to attack the little spiny monsters.

My job couldn’t have less to do with food. So you can imagine my surprise when I received an email about a tomato in my work in-box.

I’m not sure this really fits into our charter here at LA Foodblogging but it is about food in a different way!
